Our civic association RESDI and its sister organization EDUSOC in cooperation with the mayor of Luník IX, PhDr. On October 24, 2024, Marcel Šaň organized a meeting aimed at solving social and environmental challenges at Luník IX. The event was attended by representatives of the Košice and Prešov self-governing regions, employers, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, East Slovak Energy and the Alliance for Social Economy.
Through a joint discussion, concrete solutions were sought to improve living conditions on Luník IX with an emphasis on sustainable development and social inclusion. Among the discussion topics were included: Green transformation, fight against energy poverty, creation of job opportunities, digital skills for the 21st century and social inclusion respecting the specifics of the location.
The need to update the development plan of the village also arose from the discussion, and the possibility of establishing a social enterprise with specific business activities was also discussed. The event pointed to the importance of cooperation between local government, state institutions and the private and non-profit sector in solving complex challenges.
